Table of Contents
The Cupertino Company is all set for the upcoming annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). WWDC 2016 will be organized at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, California for five days. As all the eyes are on the keynote address given by the Apple CEO on June 13, here we mention what the developers expect from this gigantic event.
Major hardware announcements- Don’t expect!
Let’s start on a slightly disappointing note. It is rumored that Apple will postpone the announcement of iPhone 7 and slimmer Mac Pros to the September event, and will stay focused on software updates for iOS, OS, and watchOS. But still, the software giant has many things to offer for the developers in the conference. Here are some of the expected and interesting announcements:
iOS 10
Apple is going to announce the latest version of the iOS at WWDC 2016 in the keynote event and will provide its beta version to the developers right after it to enable them developing apps for the upcoming iPhone 7. The iOS 10 software will be unveiled for general public in the September event. Rumors also suggest that Siri will get more power, and it will be able to pick up phone calls and explain to the listeners why the receivers can’t speak to them while taking their voice mails. It is also rumored that Apple will come up with an all-in- one app, may be called as Home, which will take care of all the smart home devices. Here also, Apple is said to include Siri to assist the users.
It is expected that the iPhone owners can remove default apps from their Home screen using iOS 10. Also, the inclusion of an additional security feature for the latest iOS version cannot be ruled out.
OS X 10.12
One of the biggest rumors spread for the WWDC is about the OS X update. OS X 10.12 is said to come with Siri integration into Mac computers. It is said that Siri icon would be placed in the Menu Bar, and it will launch the voice assistant on clicking. Another rumor is that Apple is going to launch more powerful and slimmer MacBook Pros. However, their presentation at WWDC is unlikely as the focus is thought to be on software.
watchOS 3
Let’s face it. The Californian Company has failed to materialize Apple Watch to date. It is expected that Apple will announce the third major update of the watchOS with several new features and improvements in performance. Rumor is that the company considers extending support for the third-party watch faces to facilitate home screen customization.
Apple Pay
Another big rumor is Apple Pay integration in the web browser-Safari. Apple Pay is going to available to the iOS users who are making purchases through Safari browsers on both iPads and iPhones. This integration will help Apple to expand Apple Pay’s footprint in the web world. Today, both Siri and Apple Pay are two of the most-searched terms for Apple. The company wants to bring both of them into the mainstream, and we expect the same at the WWDC 2016 event. Also, tvOS and Apple Music will also get some updates that will open the doors of new opportunities for the developers.
At the conclusion, it is fair to mention that the upcoming WWDC 2016 event is just a trailer of the great autumn event that will be held by the software giant Apple.
